We sat with one of our Bankly App users, Tayo, to hear his thoughts on how the app has impacted his financial life while living in a bustling city like Lagos.

Hello Tayo. Talk to us about your first encounter with the Bankly App

So, I downloaded the Bankly App because I wanted to create a new account to receive my salary when I got a new job. My first impression was that the mix of colors on the app is beautiful but I don’t remember who introduced me to the App. 

Interesting. So, how has your experience been so far?

It’s been good so far. Unlike most traditional banks, Bankly transfers are very fast and seamless. One day, I sent some money to my sister and I had forgotten about it. 4 hours later, she said I should let her know when I made the payment. I was confused. That doesn’t happen with Bankly. The other party gets credited instantly. I also love that I’m able to easily access my transaction history, notifications, and receipts within the app. 

That’s amazing! Which features do you find most useful and unique? 

The send money feature is the most useful to me at the moment because I haven’t tried the group and individual savings features yet. I recently found out that Bankly has been paying me for using the app to pay my electricity and airtime bills. That’s 'betta life credits' and I think it's so cool. When I opened it, I saw that all the proceeds for airtime I’ve bought over time had accumulated to over 500 naira that I could send to my main account and withdraw at will.  

Love it! How would you describe the app's user-friendliness?

The Bankly App is user friendly and getting comfortable with the app was really fast. I didn’t have to ask for any help using the app. I can send money easily and access my beneficiaries without any stress as well. Everything I need in the app is within reach without stress.  

Have you noticed any positive financial changes or benefits since using Bankly? 

Not yet because I haven’t explored other features but I plan to start using them very soon.

Alright. But are there any areas where you think Bankly could improve or any additional features you'd like to see added?

I think it would be nice if the opening screen were animated. I like aesthetics so that would make it engaging for me. A facial recognition feature would be nice as well.

What advice would you give to someone who's considering using Bankly for the first time?

I would tell them that transfers are fast and they won’t have any issues with making payments. They will not have to wait hours for their transactions to reflect. Transfers reflect in the blink of an eye. I can vouch that transfers made with the Bankly app have at least a 99.3% success rate. 

Can you share a specific instance where Bankly made a significant difference in your finances?

Not yet. But now that I know about Betta-life credits, I will only use the Bankly app to buy airtime, data, and electricity bills. That way, Bankly will pay me when I pay bills and I can use the money for other expenses. 

What are your expectations from Bankly in the future, and how do you see it evolving?

In the future, I expect that Bankly will have an ATM card so that I can make more online payments with the app. I also hope that the UI keeps getting better and better.
